netINS Accelerator Basics

Using netINS Accelerator Taskbar Menu

Click the netINS Accelerator icon to display its taskbar menu. This menu allows you access to several useful items including diagnostics and the netINS Accelerator controls, which you may modify.

The netINS Accelerator can display several states or activities. These states are represented by icons in the Windows taskbar area near the system clock. The icons animate when they indicate activity.

Quick Tour

The Quick Tour option runs a two-minute web-based tutorial that explains:

How acceleration works
What content is accelerated and what is not
How to use the netINS Accelerator menu
How to measure your acceleration

The Quick Tour is available from the taskbar icon menu. To access this menu, click on the icon in the taskbar.

Help

The Help menu option launches local help. netINS Accelerator Help contains:

System requirements
Internet access troubleshooting tips
Special configuration information for Netscape and other browsers that require adjustments to the proxy settings to use netINS Accelerator

Help is available from the taskbar icon menu. To access this menu click on the icon in the taskbar.

netINS Accelerator works with a wide range of Windows systems and browsers.

Installation

Here is a summary of installation options and default settings:

Starting and Restarting netINS Accelerator

netINS Accelerator is designed to be available at all times. A small icon appears in the Windows taskbar area near the clock when netINS Accelerator is running. If netINS Accelerator is not already running, you can start the program from the Windows Start menu.

Programs -> {netINS Accelerator program group} -> Start netINS Accelerator

By default netINS Accelerator is located in the netINS Accelerator Program group. netINS Accelerator commands available from the Windows Start menu include:

Help	netINS Accelerator Help offers troubleshooting tips in the unlikely case that you experience problems with Internet access after installing netINS Accelerator. Help also contains information about using netINS Accelerator with supported browsers including Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, and Mozilla.
Readme	Technical information about netINS Accelerator and its compatibility with other products.
Start netINS Accelerator	Starts netINS Accelerator.
Stop netINS Accelerator	Stops netINS Accelerator and removes the program from active memory.
Uninstall netINS Accelerator	Removes netINS Accelerator from your system.
